With the support of ACE DYCP funding I have been conducting research in the collections and archives of The Lapworth and Sedgwick Earth Science Musuems, responding imaginatively to objects and experimenting with video, animation and collage in order to reflect on the social, political and metaphysical meanings of Mineralogy collections.
GeoStudio was a research group, of staff and post-graduates within the Department of Arts at Northumbria University, convened by me as Professor of Fine Art, engaged in research around: the politics and aesthetics of geo-materiality; the geologic /material turn in contemporary culture; post human nature; the legacies of land art; the studio /field as a critical axis.
